Today is working-on-the-computer day.

Song:
Black Celebration - Depeche Mode

Last night Bobo and I took a walk around some cross country ski trails near the MN Zoo. It was pretty chilly out so we dressed warmly. Lots of talking and lots of fun. It felt good to get out and exercise. Before we set off on the walk he wanted to go to a comic shop. For me to be in a comic shop is like an alcoholic being in a bar. To settle me down he bought me a couple of issues of Queen & Country. That made me happy.

Song:
Die Another Day - Madonna which we played repeatedly on the way to the ski trails and back.

Today was all about 007. We got up, had breakfast and went to the movies. Die Another Day was a whole lot better than I expected it to be. The first half was probably the best Bond I've seen since Living Daylights. Good movie- great James Bond movie. When we got home, on TV was... James Bond movies. The rest of the day was filled with conversation and 007.

My mom cut my hair off. It took a long time. Most of Octopussy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Greg and I flew into St. Louis around 11:00am. Our flight was one minute early. What to do with our extra minute!

Very busy day. So busy I'll have to update this another time.

I was of sync today. Just after I woke up I didn't feel like I was here. It felt like I was watching everything from inside my head- like I wasn't controlling anything, just watching.

I got a pleasant surprise when I arrived at work today. Jason, er, GibsonCrash was there! He's back from school for Thanksgiving. So he and I started talking about what direction BPTV will be going in the very near future by what equipment we purchase now. That was short lived because our neighbors in this warehouse, Orwak Company, was relocating and giving away a ton of their furniture and Dacia and Susan are too weak to move any of it so it ended up being the boys doing all the work. I am SO glad Jason was here for that alone, but thats not the only reason. Its just nice to have a balance to all the estrogen here. James TP came in to help but didn't much. He did bring Krispy Kremes. I was hungry (the Krispys didn't help that much) and didn't want to be moving furniture so I was a bit grumpy. So was Jason. But we decided to not be in bad moods. It half worked.

Jim Bird came in to shoot tonight. He performed his Christmas Jim Sings Swing episode. That went pretty well.

I taught Tiffany how to play Chess. It took some momentum and a lot of explaining. Just when we started to gain some speed we were called to breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Oh my goodness- this was amazing. Scrambled eggs with sausage gravy and biscuits. I was in heaven.

Getting back to Tiff's and my chess game- I think that break was exactly what she needed. She was playing almost completely on her own. In the end she technically won (I helped quite a bit). I was mentally worn out from explaining the many different things needed to be covered, but she wanted to play again. I said no, but she really really wanted to. So I said ok. Lets just say I didn't help nearly as much the second time. Check Mate. She sat and studied every possible way to get out of Check Mate and finally gave in. That was the coolest moment. She was using every bit of knowledge she gained from two games to find a way out according to the rules of chess. Two games ago she had no idea about any rules and here she was questioning each one and following them till she accepted defeat. I was proud of her. She will be a chess monster.

The chicklets were picked up by their dad and Becky and I awaited Spud and Dave to take me back to civilization. Being. We just hung out, enjoying each other's company.

Wake up in the morning to Bridget bouncing on the bed. Not far behind is Tiffany. Stretched our tiredness out and sat down to put together a game. It was an electronic game where you control a very light foam ball through an obstacle course. Harry Potter is in the middle and is supposed to be using his magic to do it when in reality its a tiny little fan. So for most of the day we listened to the games sound bites- "Steady; Concentrate, Focus" etc. It was quite irritating after a while.

Becky made some pork ribs and sour kraut and set it to cook.
Everyone piled into the truck and we cut through the woods to go watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The movie was alright. I liked it better than the first one. We were all pretty tired when we got home. Becky and I ate the dinner that was cookin while we were gone. Oh my goodness was that good. We had pie all ready to eat, but no room to eat it. So we went to bed.

I overslept today. But no one knew. I had no idea who I'd be working with this morning so I hauled ass anyway and was about 45 minutes late... no one noticed. I think was in the Twilight Zone.

Today, immeidiately after work, Spud and I head NE to the Eagle River area. I haven't been in Eagle since early 1998. I'll actually be in St. Germain, but close enough (too close for some). Shepp might be coming too.

I think as we get closer to the holidays people get too busy to do their tv shows because things are starting to slow down... or are they!!?! It might be because I've been scheduling my fictitious friend, Katie Gavin, to help me get caught up. Either way I'm loving it.

Wednesday night has become my tv night somehow. Last night's was really good. Way back when Juston moved in to 8144 he got the rest of us into the television show ED. We used to invite people over to watch Ed and they would come but that has since died down. We still watch the show religiously. After Ed we dance around the stations for an hour till South Park comes on. South Park was hilarious and profound lastnight. I admire they courage that show has to tackle an issue that could be taken as politically incorrect. Lastnights episode basically portrayed how celebrating homosexuality can get out of hand. It was brilliant. Thats it. Thats all I need from television.

Tomorrow I will be roadtrippin to WI for the first time in about 4 years. I'm going to see Becky and I can't wait.

Adventure day.

Cinema Judge and Ruth came in today to edit a show. They did an episode about Femme Fatale. Looks like a cool movie but Rebecca Romijn-Stamos doesn't seem to be able to act. She was best painted blue as Mystique in X-Men.

Susan asked if I was able to help her with some things at her house in return for lunch and I agreed. First she brought me to her house to install her van's rear seat. I guess they're going to sell the van and they wanted to get an estimate with everything in it and she wasn't able to do it by herself. While I was there we figured I might as well carry the giant TV (not nearly as giant as the big f-ing TV in our house) down to the extra bedroom. Megan, Susan's niece, was home so she went to lunch with Susan and me. I thought it was a set up because she decided we should eat at Famous Dave's and have ribs. I thought she was testing me because of our debate on Monday (see 11/18/02). I managed to eat my ribs without ever licking my fingers. After lunch I helped Susan grab empty boxes from a liquor store so she could help someone move. Finally she brought me back to work.

Today I've been encoding shows for the BPTV web page. While a show encodes I can surf. I've waving my geek flag and posting links to the current Marvel Comics movie trailers.

Song:
After All - David Bowie cool song, I've read its a dedication to his fans. "oh by jingo"

A bit of a strange day. I worked with Leon which went by fast and then worked with Katie Gavin. She doesn't exist. Its a fictional name we use to fill time on the calendar to catch up. I've been working with her alot lately and its almost like I don't know how to handle all the time I have. I'm actually getting caught up.

I went to have some breakfast for lunch today and my server was a lady who looked like she was still in the 80's. She served Cinema Judge and I once a while ago and it started a whole speculation on what her life would be like. Our speculation ended up sad and I felt bad for her. And she still works there. She looks like the blonde that would get killed by Freddy Cruger early on. She would definitly not survive in a horror movie.

Busy day. We do a show here at BPTV called God's Word Brings Our Healing. Tonight the people responsible for that show held a little dinner in appreciation to all involved in the ministry. Since they do the show here, we were invited to the dinner and were applauded warmly. It was very nice.

During the day, before the banquet, we were talking about table manners and it lead to a debate about whether or not it was impolite to lick your fingers while eating ribs.

We slept in till half the day was gone. Then we procrastinated Becky getting out of MN which gained us an extra 6 hours. Yay! It was a lazy day of just goofing around. Sometimes you need that after such a busy weekend. We tried our best to ignore the Packer game.

I came in to load decks today while Becky slept. No fair! Poor Dacia had her hands full today here at work.

Lord Bobo held his D&D tournament today. Three games (all the same module) played at the same time all in the same house (three different DMs).

Greg organized a little dinner party for the couples of our peer group. Becky and I were running late which ended up being perfectly timed because everywhere they tried was too busy. Just so happened that the place we parked right in front of was the place we ended up having dinner at. This was to be the first time we most of us were going to meet Greg's girlfriend, Mandy. So it was Greg & Mandy, Curtis & Renate, Jason & Marusha, and Becky & me. We had a great time and a great dinner. Nice work, Greg.

After dinner, Becky and I went to explore Ground Zero. That is the place for the misunderstood. Ground Zero is probably the club that plays the coolest music in Minneapolis. You might actually hear some David Bowie there mixed in with NIN or Ramstein.

Bar time and we left Ground Zero and went right to Bobo's house to see how the tournament went. Ragin and Bobo were the only ones up and they were just hanging out. We got a quick tour of the various gaming tables. We all just kind of parked at the table down in Bobo's room, someone gathered all the alcohol in the house and we started doing nasty Phillips shots in candle light. That was fun and a bit dramatic.

Juston thought this was Saturday.

countdown...
THIS IS THE DAY!! Peter Gabriel is in town. so is Becky!

Everyone arrived at 8144 at pretty much the same time. Everyone was home, Bobo came over and Becky arrived within one 15 minute period. Everything settled down and Greg, Bobo, Becky and I took off to see Pete. We got downtown, parked and went into O'Donovan's Irish Pub to get something to eat right across from the Target Center. While we were there we ran into Dana who was also going to the concert. They serve a shepard's pie that is nothing compared to the Crosstown Deli's pie from days of old.

Doors open at 7pm and the main show started at 8pm so we figured we'd head over at 8. We got there and found ourselves in the midst of chaos. They weren't letting anyone go to their seats and it was well past opening doors time. On top of that we could hear Peter and his band practicing. What a temptation that was. During all that we ran into Jezebel. She was all fired up at the front of the line. It turns out that ticket sales were alot lower than they had expected so they were exchanging upper deck seats for mid level seats (which means if you purchased $45 dollar tickets, they were moving you to $90 seats, har har). And because of all that, the whole show started much later so we ended up seeing the opening act too.
The opening act was a band called the Blind Boys from Alabama. They were great. They started off with a song that Moby sampled on his 2nd to last album. As Minderthree described them "... listening to those guys can save your soul."
Next was a couple of guys from Tanzania. They had a very tribal act. It was pretty cool and very Gabriel to have them open.
Finaly the show.
Peter Gabriel is very theatrical. I knew this about him, yet, the Up show was full of surprises. He has been doing this for longer than I've been alive and he's still going strong. Here is a set list I came up with from the best I can remember:

  • Here Comes the Flood (Peter Gabriel I) [Peter performs this song alone with no accompanyment and minimal lighting]
  • Red Rain (So) [the rest of the band comes on stage]
  • Darkness (Up) [during this song a giant egg came out of the lighting rig in the ceiling]
  • Secret World (Us)
  • Sky Blue (Up) [the backing vocals at the end of this song are by the Blind Boys from Alabama as they rise out of the stage]
  • Downside Up (Ovo)
  • Barry Williams Show (Up) [a pillar with a walkway comes down from the lighting rig, Peter uses a studio camera and shoots the crowd and himself with it, the video is projected on to the pillar/screen]
    - tech difficulties-
  • More than This (Up) [the egg deflates to a sphere, light is projected on to it making it appear as a ball of fire]
  • Mercy St. (So) [the ball is lit to look like a giant moon floating in the Target Center]
  • Digging in the Dirt (Us)
    -introduce the band-
  • Growing Up (Up) [the ball is lowered and uncovered to become a clear ball. it suddenly dawns on you that Pete is inside singing. during the song he is rolling it around, during the upbeat drum sequence, he bounces]
  • Animal Nation (new song)
  • Solsbury Hill (Peter Gabriel I) [Pete rides a bicycle around the stage]
  • Sledge Hammer (So) [Peter wears a coat covered with lights (like the end of the music video)]
  • Signal to Noise (Up) The pillar comes down and the lighting creates what appeared as blue electrical arcs flowing up to the ceiling. as this song ends one by one the band members disappear into the stage]]
    -band leaves the stage-
    -they come back for...-
  • In Your Eyes (So)
  • Come Talk to Me (Us)
    -they all leave again-
    -Peter Gabriel comes back alone-
  • Father Son (Ovo)

No real news on what happened in that meeting last night. All seems the same but we'll see.
Yesterday, Cinema asked if I could run his latest episodes to channel 6 downtown MPLS and I agreed to. He said he'd buy me dinner sometime. Probably at the New Century buffet. Thats fine with me. Its all you can eat chinese and they serve sushi. So today I took off and went downtown to drop them off. On the way I decided to shoot east after and go to Hubbard Broadcasting (channel 5) a pick up an employment application. As I arrived, it dawned on me that I had done this once before, 6 years ago. Then on my way to work, I thought- why not stop over at WFTC (channel 29 & 9) and get one there too. So I did.

The group who came in today to work on a show is trying to do what my brother and I have always talked about doing and tried a couple of times. A comedy show. These guys are calling theirs The Opinion. So far its pretty stupid, but at least they're doing a show. More than I can say I've done. I have done many shows, but none of them are my shows.

Don't Look Down - Lindsey Buckingham. Lastnight I played Never Going Back from Fleetwood's Rumors album for Greg because I just found the cassette (and I still don't have a computer to play CDs in) and it fired Greg up into a Buckingham kick and that got me all into it too.

Cinema Judge came in to edit today. That was a fun way to start the day. That guy has worked with no day off for well over 70 days in a row. And he comes in here with unstoppable energy. I don't know how he does that.

I finally got the Plugged interview with Aniimae Art finished today. One more step to catching up. Its been eating away at me that these episodes aren't finished. I think the particular episode I edited today was shot in early August. Thats disgusting. James says he is very fond of how this interview went and he was thinking of using it as a demo reel for the Twin Cities PBS.

Tonight there is a board meeting for Bloomington Public Television. I understand there are some serious issues that have to be discussed. Things that could change my everyday life. I have my contacts. We'll see how things are tomorrow.

    I think I'll start writing a resume'.

I think Leon (who does the Experiencia Latina program) is pissed at me today. He wanted me to edit something for him that wasn't for this tv station and I didn't think that I should. When Bloomington producers use Bloomington Public Television equipment it must result in BPTV programming. Well, this didn't quite fit in that rule. So I called him on it. I told him if Susan said its ok, than its ok. He presented the case to her. She said he could do it if he used it in a future show and that we would write up an invoice for his using the studio and when he used the footage she would void the invoice. I think that called his bluff and he left upset. I feel really bad about this because this is the guy who gave me two computers (yes, they are shyte computers and I told him over and over that other people would probably need these computers more than me. But in the end he insisted so I took them). I also feel a little offended because it seems like he was trying to take advantage of me. If I went ahead with it and got caught and Susan was feeling particularly nasty at that moment, I could lose my job.

The video Leon wanted to edit with had some the most disgusting footage I have ever seen. It was a documentary about the health hazards of smoking. Looked like it was shot in the 70s with this extremely graphic surgery footage of someone's face being opened to remove cancer. Oh my goodness, I almost gagged. Nasty nasty stuff. Susan didn't realize what it was about, she asked to see some of the footage and when I rolled tape she ran out of the room with her hand on her mouth! ha ha. oh well.

I was just visited by a walking salesman who tried to sell me a package of five children's videos. I told him I'm a big fan of animation and I had never heard of this company and what he is selling me was old and looked like crap. He asked if I had kids or any young relatives. I told him I had nephews that I hadn't met yet and he said Christmas was coming soon. I told him that if I hadn't met them yet, they wouldn't be expecting a present from me especially a crap present. He got all red faced and decided to leave. Poor fellow.

    countdown continues...
    3 days till Peter Gabriel
and its also a countdown till Iraq needs to decide whether or not to accept U.N.'s resolution. Peter Gabriel will be more fun.

    Song:

    Monday, November 11, 2002

When it comes to working on a public access television show I have decided that I despise indecision. Indecision, in itself, is a decision. Airhead producers are the bane to this otherwise, wonderful job. The producer in question will comment the tiniest detail, yet I'd almost have to beg to get their say on major show items (like, how many guests will there be? "I don't know" what!?!?!). Imediatly after the shoot was finished (thank God) James Touchi-Peters had his shoot and as I'm getting a tape ready Manager-Susan informs me that he has less than a half hour to finish his half hour interview. I'm not sure of the logic behind that but it didn't seem very possible at the time. Someone scheduled about 15 nine-year-old cub scouts to come in (Susan, I'm looking in your direction)(this must be why we have to be done in less than a half hour). Well, obviously we didn't get done in time so manager starts the troop's tour while we're shooting. What the heck! She starts demonstrating audio during a live shoot! We only had about 3 minutes to go before we were finished, come on!. Now the interview sounds weird. Thanks alot. After tape stopped rolling I escaped and had lunch. Unbelievable. Sorry, this is so vent-full, but where else can I rant!?

JTP did bring pie, though. That does help.

How do you like my new colours? They are inspired by Cobra uniforms and vehicles.

When I got home from gaming, I called Becky and she didn't answer. Young Mr. Knitt did! That was fun. He sounds good. He was saying how they had a bit of their own combat without dice and character sheets. All is well in the end.

After Beck faded I watched Juston play GTA:Vice City for a while. Then he faded. So I played. The next time I looked at the clock it was 6:30 in the morning. That game is dangerous.

I slept in again, oh thats nice. Spud was playing GTA when I got up. Everytime he steals a motorcycle they play that song I Wear My Sunglasses At Night and we somehow changed the lyrics to one part of the song so now it goes "... don't mess around with the guy who shaves the mole...". That can get irritating if it gets stuck in your head.

Working on Praise Break yesterday, I received a tip. I usually don't get this kind of thing at this job but with that show its a regular occurrence and I can't complain. So I decided to treat my self to some *waves geek flag* comics.

I work today. I stayed up too late last night stealing motorcycles and buses and driving them around on the beach. That game rules.

I'm working on a show today called Praise Break. In TV production, you have to compensate for scheduling times so today I'm working on a Christmas show. I'm not ready to work on a Christmas show. Its way too early to deal with Christmas.

I still can't believe Orion called me last night. He mentioned moving out of central Illinois and one place he was thinking was Duluth, MN. That would rule. I foresee him on future boundary water trips. He always was a bit of a hippie.

Since my computer is/was also my CD player, I am left with cassette tapes which have put me into a nostalgic kick. I'm listening to early '90s grunge again. Its not hard to slip into that with a new record from Pearl Jam in the news and all this talk about Nirvana. I forgot how good Alice In Chains: Sap was. Everytime I come across a song from that album on one of these mix tapes I get shivers all over. Good stuff.

*waves geek flag* after work today I'm committed to a game of D&D. Dungeons & Dragons ironically is a social thing. You get together with friends and play this game. Lots of joking around and laughing while you're playing. Looking forward it.

*puts geek flag away* this was one of the best chapters Wally ran. We finished up a plotline, held a huge epic Braveheart-scale battle and reaped major rewards. I learned that making player mistakes and roleplaying them is tremendous fun. By the time we were done it was Saturday.

A nice and easy day. Like the Flaming Lips once said "You gotta sleep in when you can". I had off today because I have to work tomorrow. Thats fine. James Touchi-Peters and I are hookin up today. He needs to get out of his workplace (which would also be his house) and I need help with my computer. He said he'd help in return for some alcohol. He's more of a computer guru than me (and the strange thing about that is most computer gurus are younger than I am). Other than that I plan on cleaning out my room- getting rid of shyte I don't need.

I ate lunch at the Southdale Mall. I've heard that the Southdale Mall was the first mall ever. Its nice. However, Christmas has already hit there. I'm not ready for Christmas.

Touchi never happened. I understand he is a busy man. Thats cool.

Something else happened that has been anticipated for a long long time. I received a phone call out of nowhere. Well, not exactly nowhere. Out of central Illinois. My long lost friend Orion called me. Oh my goodness- was it nice to hear from him! He sounds great. We still have tons to catch up on. I can't wait to see him.

Juston and I went out to find GTA3 Vice City. We succeeded. This game is incredible. One of the best features over the previous version is the radio stations playing in the cars that you steal. This time they're all real songs (from the '80s since thats when the game takes place- the entire game has a real Miami Vice feel to it). This is the kind of game that makes you wonder whats going to be next.

My computer at home is gone. I was given an old computer with Win95 and a Pentium II and 6 gigs of harddrive space- not much but I can't complain. Something wasn't installing right with some additional hardware so I tried to reinstall Win95. The result of that was a corrupted or missing file. So I found my old Win98 discs and tried to install that. I lost everything on the harddrive (which wasn't much, just a whole lot of songs I'll need to re-encode) but also some video and audio drivers. So everything is running silent and in 16 colors. Computers are frustrating things.

Ed was on last night. It was a pretty good episode but there was something strange and subtle. Check it out here.

today I am 10,294 days old. This is where I found that out.

Cinema Judge came in today! I have seen this bloke since September. While we edited his show we caught up with our lives. I missed him. He has a new webpage designed by our own GibsonCrash.

I am one step closer to catching up at work. A few months ago James Touchi-Peters interviewed a man who wrote a book about the subculture of professional Scrabble players for his show Plugged. That episode is finally finished. James has been working on his Conk webpage for almost a year. It should be up and running any day now. He had to stop production of Donny Crawl to work on Conk, but it sounds like he's back on for Crawl.

    watch ED tonight.

    the countdown begins...
10 days till Peter Gabriel comes to MN.

I listened to a band called 2nd Chapter of Acts this morning. But I think the rest of the day will be UP - Peter Gabriel.

I had to stay up late last night because I ran into an A&E biography on David Bowie.

Twin Cities was met with a surprise, this morning. The ground was white. Ok, I'm sure some people where expecting it, but I wasn't. Perhaps this is a foreshadow of things to come for the Donny Crawl shoot. Its the season for new windshield wiper fluid.

    Don't forget to vote!

I finally finished BAA today. Residuals from how busy last month was. What a great relief to have them done. Its not completely done yet, actually. We will be making copies for the parents for weeks to come. Thats not so bad, though. The more we sell and make, the more money we get.

Ok, I guess it was only Bloomington that got dusted. Either way, its all gone now.

I voted. There was a supplement ballot for Wellstone's replacemondalement. There was also a whole ballot for judicial offices which I had no idea about any of them. So I didn't vote for them except for one guy named Bruce Willis, but I don't think he wasn't running against anyone else.

I went to lunch and ate listening to the manager barking out commands right behind me. Then I was listening to all the chitchat with the employees. She needs to call Jenny. Jenny probably thinks she fell off the face of the earth. Imagine if you happened to see someone fall of the face of the earth. Then my exgirlfriend's parents walked in. If they recognized me they didn't want confrontation. I was ready but not willing to initiate it. I'd much rather let it pass and run here to write about it. In the end there was no confrontation which is fine. They were really nice people, its their daughter that was the problem.

Greg has a woman now and she's making him dinner tonight.

    Happy Birthday Mommy

I'm giving this blog thing a shot. It might be easier to do a daily web log from here. I'm not sure how easy it will be to access though. If anyone does read this, let me know in the message board how this works out for you.

Today has been busy again. I worked on BAA editing for the first part of the day. We've been trying to get this done for the second half of October but its been pushed aside for other 'more important' things. So today Susan realized how drastically far behind we are on many things so she got on my case for being behind on BAA. I told her that I had plenty of time scheduled to edit it but she often pulled me from it to catch up on something else. She then replied saying that I should've compensated for that knowing the nature of how we operate. What does that mean? By that logic any time I schedule for BAA should be expected to be used for some other project. I'm just trying to do my work. Jeffry wants to write a resume and find an ultra high paying job and buy a jeep and comics.

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday and I'm trying to come up with something unique to send her as a card. I'm sure I'll think of something and I'll share it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY

    8/1/02

Nothing really happened today. I'm trying to come up with something profound, but I'm having a hard time. It was one of those almost perfect weather type days and I missed most of it. This morning I saw about an hour of Apocalypse Now and was reminded just how amazing that movie was. This was the new footage version.

We had lots of visiters at the studio today. Gibsoncrash had his little sister this morning. She spent about an hour in the sound booth while we sent her voice through all sorts of strange effects. Then Dacia had her cousins come in and take a tour of the studio. They didn't speak. Susan's dad is losing his mind, he keeps calling the studio number and yelling at Dacia's recorded voice on our voicemail and instead of saying 'goodbye' he says 'over'.

    Parking Neighbors

Everytime I come home and try to park in front of our house, our new Mexican neighbors are parked there. They're usually hanging around leaning on the cars so they instantly move, but its just funny that its every time.

    Big F-ing TV

Its here. Spud and I were able to be home for its delivery. Oh my dear lord is this a big tv. Its a 16:9 screen so we spent all evening figuring out how to watch regular 3:4 television on it. First thing we settle down to watch was Lord of the Rings. Its a very complicated matter but it looks great.

    I got a bed!

In addition to a big f-ing tv, Juston got a rather large bed. So I got his old bed frame. For the first time in quite a while I'm sleeping with my bedframe off the floor. Its rather nice.

    Dark Cold Day

Its the hottest day this year. So we countered it at work by turning down the lights and turning up the AC. The only reason we can do this is because Dacia is gone. For some unknown reason she hates dark and cold.

    Archives

I ran out of room here on the news page so I started puting up an archive to free up some of this space.

    No More...

Gibsoncrash and I went to the Mall for lunch. While there I checked Players one last time. Again she wasn't there. This is one week. I think its time to close the case. She's all yours Jez.

    Big F-ing TV

Greg, Spud and I got rid of the entertainment center tonight to make room for the big f-ing tv that comes tomorrow! Throwing away that mother was easier and alot more fun that I imagined it would be.

    Cowboy Bebop OST2
Got it in the mail today. Yoko Kanno is an amazing musician- becoming one of my favorites. The music is what makes this show so cool.
    Where is Clea?!?!
Tomorrow is one week since we were served by her at Players. I haven't seen her since then. We ate there tonight (Spud, Greg, and I) with the hopes of asking her for Saturday.

    BAA
I spent 8 and a half hours today in the hellish hot weather. I was not happy about it. Gregory, Curtis, GibsonCrash and I were shooting Bloomington Athletic Association Baseball which is tons of little boys playing in a pretty well organized baseball tournament. Its a feeling of panic - every instinct in my body is screaming "GET OUT OF THE SUN" but I can't. I have to stand behind that camera, directly under the sun, inning after inning. Thank God the last series of games were cancelled because the storms I had prayed for finnally arrived.
When I got home I was spent. I went to bed at 9pm. Altering my sleeping pattern horribly. Thats ok.

Keep them Separated - can't remember what that band is called, but the song came up because I suggested we keep the 4 cameras and their gear separate from each other. D'oh, I just remembered - Offspring

    Clea
I don't think she works at Players anymore. I'll try again on Tuesday (one week from the first encounter) and if she isn't there- case closed.
    Da!
It was one of those times where you formulate the plan, proceed and execute all without a hitch.
    a. formulate: find Gorky Park cd used.
    b. proceed: convince Greg to drive to Disc World
    c. execute: it just so happened to be there for $5.99!

    Library
Juston, Spud and I went on an adventure. First we went to the library to find some things. We almost didn't make it in, because of some old dude wondering around the entrance. This guy smelled so bad you almost had to push the oder aside to get by him. We finally broke through and did our things. Later I saw him on the 'non-fiction' level sleeping away. The only reason I noticed him was I could smell he was near.
    Big F-ing TV
Then we went to Best Buy to buy a big TV. Juston's looking at a huge mama. We found out it may be some time before we walk out of there with one.
    Austin Powers
What a great movie. I almost couldn't handle the first 10 minutes. Laughed my ass off.

    Russia
Today I edited with a guy who is doing a show about travel. He was editing a bunch of footage he took from Russia. It was pretty cool to see Russia from a laymans point of view. He said that country has the most beautiful women in the world.

    Clea DuVall
I told LordBobo and Spud that I was thinking about goint back to Players today to ask her for her number. So I did. The only thing I found out is that she didn't work tonight. At least she doesn't work at Players tonight.

LordBobo and I went Players at the Mall of America (there it is again) for a meal suggested by Spud (as he sat on the couch, healing). We were served by someone who looked like Clea DuVall (but I'm the only one who knows who that is). She said I looked like Oliver Platt and I do. After a very satisfying meal we went to my house to watch...

Before Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore, there was Bottle Rocket. This was the first movie directed by Wes Anderson. If you haven't seen it and you enjoyed the other two, watch it.

    Rain
It was raining on my way home from Rent. I love my new tires.
    Rent
Saw Rent at the Ordway Theatre with the Aniimae art girls. What a great show. The music alone is something I could listen to like a regular album, I know Amy has a copy, lets see if she burns me one. The plot itself is a bit of a tragedy with themes focusing on living in the moment. Rent made me want to see theatre more often. I recommend it.
    Rogue Video Production
I rode around in the back of a pickup truck video taping all around the Mall of America this morning at around 6am. What a way to start the day, eh!?

    Nice Little Con-Lady
I was told by a little old lady that if I handed her a bill larger than $1.oo and made a wish, I would have good luck and God would bless me. I asked her how that was possible. A wish, good luck, and a blessing from God all seem to contradict each other. She just said that God would bless me and she took off (without my money ^_^).
    Secret Project
Today I met with Jiminy T Peters and his associate to discuss a giant (and right now- secret) project that involves the Mall of America. We had lunch just across the street at Thank God Its Fridays. It felt like scoping out a bank robbery. More on that secret project when it becomes public. ^_^ Have you noticed that half of these news articles somehow involve the Mall!?!?

    Brake Light Reversed
As a result of Spud's accident, his car was left at the Mall parking lot last night and all today. Greg and I embarked on a mission to recover his car for him so it wouldn't get towed for being there too long or something. We took my jeep so Greg would drive Spud's car home and park in the garage waiting for his recovery. So after we found it, I followed Greg home. This is when I noticed the impossible. The tail-lights came on as soon as Greg turned on the head-lights, nothing strange there. But as soon as Greg stepped on the brakes... the small tail-light furthest to the right went out. When Greg let off the break, it came back on! How the heck does that happen?!?!? Not a very exciting day if this is the news item i post, huh.

    Spud Broke
Last night (the 16th) I watched my roommate, Spud, walk up the stairs as he said goodnight. This happens almost every night. I get home tonight and he is sprawled out all over the love seat in an awful shape. His right foot is all bandaged up. His right wrist is in a cast, his chest has been patched together, he's mumbling on powerful pain killers- what the hell happened today!?!?! From what I gather, he was moving some stuff around a storage area at his work, J-Crew at the Mall of America, and the platform he was on broke to a 15 to 20 foot fall. Shut down 25% of the mall. Thank God he's alive.

    Fight Club Author
The variety show, Plugged with James Touchi-Peters, featured author Chuck Palahniuk. He is on a book tour promoting his latest paperback called Choke. Chuck is as cool as you would think. It was a great interview.
    New Leatherman
Over the last 4 years I have had a total of three Leatherman tools. The first one went missing at work during a production of a Magician Show sometime in 2000. hmmm... that guy was good at making things disappear. The second one was lost while video taping a Bloomington Athletic Association basketball tournament last year. Kids everywhere. Today I bought myself a new Leatherman Wave. Lets see how long this one will survive.
